Continuing our series of blogs called Client Focus, the third client to feature is Barry Packaging .  A Tralee based family enterprise, Barry Packaging is in the business of providing retailers with their ideal carrier bag. Established in 1972, they make bags for fashion shops, for pharmacies, for galleries, for events, for food outlets and for others too. They make all styles, sizes, shapes, strengths, and shades of paper bag as is evident from the pretty galleries on their website.

Breda Barry  first contacted James in 2010 when she was looking to change her Sage support provider. As a Sage 50 Professional user, Breda needed new customised sales analysis reports, she was dealing with a large number of transactions in Sage (>100k) and she needed an automated way of collecting money from her repeat customers.

James recommended a support contract with Synergy Network to include a report design service. Also covered by the contract was assistance is carrying out a clear audit trail procedure and support in upgrading Sage to the latest version.

Direct Debit software

To improve cashflow, Breda decided to start collecting money from her customers via Direct Debit. James had installed a number of these systems in the recent past for Sage 50 users. As our direct debit software is integrated with Sage 50, it eliminates duplication of entries and produces a file for submission to the Bank. All Breda had to do was to get her customers to sign up for Direct Debit. The implementation of the software solution was up to James.

Website Integration

The Barry family conducts a lot of its business online via the excellent website http://barrypackaging.com.  The next project for Eamon and Breda is linking the sales orders generated by their website with their Sage 50 Professional software. James has suggested a number of Sage add-ons that could suit their purpose.
